I have never been known in my family as a good fisherman. In fact, I'm sure they would rather I stayed home! I hate putting worms on hooks. I hate catching anything because I don't like killing it. I hate cleaning fish, but I love fishing. Sitting quietly with my hook dangling in the water intrigues me. The tiniest nibble will have me sitting on tender hooks waiting and wondering if I will win the battle! My biggest joy connected with fishing is the cooking and eating. I love almost every kind of fish.

One of our biggest joys since moving to Prince Edward Island has been the availability of good seafood. My work in putting this cookbook together has taught my much about the great variety of Island seafood.

I do not take credit for all the recipies. This book is the culmination of years of gathering knowledge that many people have willingly shared with me and represents the experience of many, many Islanders over the years. Please enjoy!
